Una camera da letto, la stanza più segreta della casa, dove nemmeno l’ospite viene invitato ad entrare, diventa, nel percorso di questi quadri e di questa installazione, l’emblema di un mondo universale, nel quale si indaga sulla libertà e sul suo rapporto col potere. In questo ambiente l’uomo rimane solo con se stesso, finalmente libero da ogni imposizione esterna, abbandonato alla sua intimità , ma destinato comunque a soccombere davanti alle sue necessità fisiche e all’esigenza del riposo. L’essere umano, concepito con il limite del sonno, è qui già pronto ad evadere e a riscattarsi con l’immaginazione e la speranza del sogno. Una stanza, illuminata in modo da ricordare al visitatore le luci e le ombre della società contemporanea.

La mostra ha rappresentato un’inconsueta esperienza di convivenza e scambi tra diversi linguaggi e differenti artisti, che hanno saputo interpretare ciascuno liberamente ogni ambiente della casa, cucina e bagni compresi. Giorni Felici infatti non è stata solo una mostra, ma un’opportunità di visibilità per giovani che stanno iniziando il proprio percorso artistico, attraverso un confronto costruttivo con grandi maestri, in uno spazio che è più casa che museo. Le porte si sono aperte a realtà creative nuove, grazie a una scommessa di responsabilità nei confronti di un’ansia creativa che ha sempre più bisogno di trovare un indirizzo.

Tra gli ospiti di eccezione del 2010 figurano grandi nomi del panorama artistico italiano: Enzo Cucchi, pittore con cui Testori realizzò importanti progetti negli ultimi anni della sua vita a Modena, Milano e Vienna, Alessandro mendini, architetto e artista poliedrico, da poco tornato alla direzione di Domus, Gianni Dessi, uno degli esponenti di punta della “Nuova scuola romana”. Una stanza è stata inoltre dedicata all’artista milanese Pippa Bacca, tragicamente scomparsa in Turchia nel marzo del 2008 durante la performance itinerante Spose in viaggio.

Hanno partecipato, molti con opere site specific, gli artisti: Turi Simeti, Yi Zhou, Julia Krahn, Umberto Chiodi, Diamante Faraldo, Elena Monzo, Armin Linke, Giovanni Vitali, Alessandro Verdi, J&Peg, Youssef Nabil, Emanuele Dottori, Arianna Scommegna, Michael S. Lee, Mario Dellavedova, Rossella Roli, Andrea Mastrovito, Davide Nido. Nel Giardino sono state collocate le sculture di Sergio Fermariello.

L’esposizione è stata promossa e organizzata dall’Associazione Giovanni Testori Onlus, in collaborazione con Casa Testori Associazione Culturale, che fa della casa tanto amata da Testori un luogo di incontro e di produzione culturale a pochi chilometri da Milano nel centro di Novate Milanese.

A bedroom, the most secret room of the house, where not even guests are invited to enter, becomes, in the course of these paintings and this installation, the emblem of a universal world, in which freedom and its relationship with power are investigated. In this environment, man remains alone with himself, finally free from external impositions, abandoned to his intimacy but still destined to succumb to his physical needs and the need for rest. The human being, conceived with the limit of sleep, is already ready here to escape and redeem himself with imagination and the hope of dreams. A room, illuminated in a way that reminds the visitor of the lights and shadows of contemporary society.

The exhibition represented an unusual experience of coexistence and exchange between different languages and different artists, each of whom freely interpreted every area of the house, including the kitchen and bathrooms. "Giorni Felici" (Happy Days) was not just an exhibition but an opportunity for visibility for young artists who are starting their artistic journey, through a constructive comparison with great masters, in a space that feels more like a home than a museum. The doors were opened to new creative realities, thanks to a commitment to the responsibility towards a creative anxiety that increasingly needs to find a direction.

Among the exceptional guests of 2010 were prominent names in the Italian artistic panorama: Enzo Cucchi, a painter with whom Testori realized important projects in the last years of his life in Modena, Milan, and Vienna; Alessandro Mendini, an architect and versatile artist who recently returned to the direction of Domus magazine; Gianni Dessi, one of the leading figures of the "Nuova scuola romana" (New Roman School). A room was also dedicated to the Milanese artist Pippa Bacca, who tragically disappeared in Turkey in March 2008 during the itinerant performance "Brides on Tour."

Many artists participated, some with site-specific works, including: Turi Simeti, Yi Zhou, Julia Krahn, Umberto Chiodi, Diamante Faraldo, Elena Monzo, Armin Linke, Giovanni Vitali, Alessandro Verdi, J&PEG, Youssef Nabil, Emanuele Dottori, Arianna Scommegna, Michael S. Lee, Mario Dellavedova, Rossella Roli, Andrea Mastrovito, Davide Nido. Sculptures by Sergio Fermariello were placed in the garden.

The exhibition was promoted and organized by the Giovanni Testori Onlus Association, in collaboration with Casa Testori Cultural Association, which has turned Testori's beloved home into a place of encounter and cultural production just a few kilometers from Milan in the center of Novate Milanese.
